Board of Editors

The Journal is a fully student-run legal publication. Its Board of Editors is composed of students who underwent a rigorous admissions and training process. The Board has the primary responsibility of editing and producing each issue of the Journal and has the secondary responsibility of fulfilling other administrative functions to ensure the continuous operation of the Journal.

Isa Maria N. Avancena

Isa Maria N. Avanceña graduated with honors from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 with a degree in A.B. European Studies, Major in International Relations, and minors in English Literature and French. She is currently a second year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 60th volume and currently serves as the Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the same volume. She is a member of the Journal’s Office and Layout Committees. Outside of working for the Journal, she is also a member of the Administration of the Ateneo Law School’s Central Bar Operations. 

Ray Maynard J. Bacus

Ray Maynard J. Bacus graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a major in Legal Management and a minor in Entrepreneurial Development. He joined the Journal for its 58th Volume. He was the Associate Lead Editor of the 3rd issue of the 58th Volume. Presently, he is a fourth year student at the Ateneo Law School and serves as a Member of the Journal's Executive Committee, Head of the Layout Committee, and Head of the Information Systems Committee. He is also the Lead Editor of the 3rd issue of the 60th Volume. He has previously written Bringing Home Bad Bacon: The Unconstitutionality of the Pork Barrel System, 59 Ateneo L.J. 274 (2014); Constant Destitution: A Comparison of Philippine Minimum Wage and Living Wage, 59 Ateneo L.J. 906 (2014); & Autonomy or Secession: Analysis of the Constitutionality of the Bangsamoro Basic Law, 59 Ateneo L.J. 1433 (2015).

Isabel Assunta C. Caguioa

Isabel Assunta C. Caguioa graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines-Diliman in 2014 with a degree in B.A. Psychology. She is currently a second year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2015 for its 60th volume. She is a member of the Journal’s Layout and Information System Committees, and currently serves as the Associate Lead Editor for the second issue of the 60th volume.

Kenneth Paul T. Cajigal ✝

Kenneth Paul T. Cajigal graduated from the University of the Philippines Manila with a degree in B.S. Nursing. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 59th volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the said volume. He is a member of the Finance and Office Committees. Aside from being an editor of the Journal, he is also an appointed commissioner in the Ateneo Law School Commission on Elections and Judicial Appointments.

Miguel Luigi L. Calayag

Miguel Luigi L. Calayag graduated with honors with a degree of A.B. Political Science and a Minor in Chinese Studies from Ateneo de Manila University in 2013. He is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2014. He was the Associate Lead Editor for the third issue of the 59th Volume.

Paolo Miguel S. Consignado

Paolo Miguel S. Consignado graduated from Ateneo de Manila University in 2012 with a degree in A.B. Political Science. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 59th volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for the third issue of the said volume.. Aside from being an editor of the Journal, he is also a member of the Ateneo Society of International Law (ASIL). He is currently a fourth year student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law.

Fidel Maximo M. Diego III

Fidel Maximo M. Diego III graduated from the University of the Philippines-Diliman with a major in Journalism. He joined the Journal for its 58th Volume. He was the Associate Lead Editor of the 2nd issue of the 58th Volume. Presently, he is a fourth year student at the Ateneo Law School and serves as a Member of the Journal's Executive Committee, Head of the Distributions Committee, and Head of the Subscriptions Committee. He is also the Lead Editor of the 2nd issue of the 60th Volume. He has previously written Evolution of International Arbitration Law in the Philippines, 59 Ateneo L.J. 297 (2014).

Emmanuel Benito C. Dulay

Emmanuel Benito C. Dulay graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2013 with a degree in B.S. Management, Major in Legal Management and a Minor In Enterprise Development. He is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 60th volume. He is also a member of the Journal’s Office and Distribution Committees, and currently serves as Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the same volume.

Eleonor Dyan R. Garcia

Eleonor Dyan R. Garcia graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2011 with a degree in A.B. Management Economics. She is currently a fourth year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 58th volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the same volume. She is the Head of the Journal's Office Committee. She is also a member of the Subscription Committee. Other than the Journal, she is also a member of the St. Thomas More Debate and Advocacy Society and the News Team of The Palladium.

Klarika Angela C. Garcia

Klarika Angela C. Garcia graduated from Ateneo de Manila University in 2013 with a degree in A.B. Political Science and a Minor in French Studies and European Studies. She is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 59th volume.

Katrina Monica C. Gaw

Katrina Monica C. Gaw graduated cum laude from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 with a degree in B.S Management, Major in Legal Management, and a minor in English Literature. She is currently a second year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2015 for its 60th volume. She is a member of the Journal’s Finance and Distribution Committees, and currently serves as the Associate Lead Editor for the third issue of the 60th volume. She is also a member of the Academics Committee of the Ateneo Law School’s Central Bar Operations.

Elaine S. Mendoza

Elaine S. Mendoza graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2012 with a degree in AB Management Economics and a Minor in International Business. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 59th volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the said volume. She is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She is the Head of the Secretariat Committee of the Journal.

Jewelle Ann Lou P. Santos

Jewelle Ann Lou P. Santos graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines Manila in 2013 with a degree in Political Science. She was also given the 2013 College of Arts and Sciences "Most Outstanding Student" Award and Best Seminar Paper in Political Science. She joined the Journal in 2014 for its 59th volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for the second issue of the said volume. Shie is also a member of the Layout and Information Systems Commitee of the Journal. She is currently in her third year of law school and and Third Year Research Scholar of the Chief Justice Claudio Teehankee Center for the Rule of Law.
