Board of Editors

The Journal is a fully student-run legal publication. Its Board of Editors is composed of students who underwent a rigorous admissions and training process. The Board has the primary responsibility of editing and producing each issue of the Journal and has the secondary responsibility of fulfilling other administrative functions to ensure the continuous operation of the Journal.

Angelli Camille P. Ancheta

Angelli Camille P. Ancheta graduated cum laude and Program Awardee from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 with a degree in A.B. Literature in English. She joined the Journal for its 61st Volume and is Associate Lead Editor for the second issue of the same Volume. She is currently a third year student specializing in International Environmental Law, and a scholar of the Ateneo de Manila Law Alumni Association, Inc.

Isa Maria N. Avancena

Isa Maria N. Avanceña graduated with honors from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014, with a degree in A.B. European Studies, Major in International Relations, and Minors in English Literature and French. In 2015, she joined the Board of Editors of the Journal and served as Associate Lead Editor for the third issue of the 60th Volume. Currently, she is a member of the Journal’s Layout and Office Committees. She is also a member of the Administration Committee of the Ateneo Law School’s Central Bar Operations.

Ma. Carmel M. Baquilod

Ma. Carmel M. Baquilod graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2015 with a degree in B.S Economics. She is currently a second year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2016 for its 61st volume. She is also an intern for the Ateneo Human Rights Center.

Isabel Assunta C. Caguioa

Isabel Assunta C. Caguioa graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippine Diliman in 2014 with a degree in B.A. Psychology. She is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2015 for its 60th volume. She is a member of the Journal’s Layout and Information System Committees, and served as the Associate Lead Editor for the second issue of the 60th volume. 

Miguel Luigi L. Calayag

Miguel Luigi L. Calayag graduated with honors with a degree of A.B. Political Science and a Minor in Chinese Studies from Ateneo de Manila University in 2013. In 2014, he joined the Board of Editors of the Journal and served as Associate Lead Editor for the third issue of the 59th Volume. In 2015, he wrote The Sovereign at its Shores: An Analysis on Australia’s ‘Stop the Boats’ Offshore Processing and Pacific Island Detention Policy for Refugees and Asylum Seekers, 60 Ateneo L.J. 945 (2016). Currently, he is a member of the Executive Committee, head of the Subscriptions Committee, and co-head of the Layout Committee of the Board of Editors of Volume 61.

Emmanuel Benito C. Dulay

Emmanuel Benito C. Dulay graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2013 with a degree in B.S. Management, Major in Legal Management, and a Minor in Enterprise Development. In 2015, he joined the Board of Editors of the Journal and served as Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the 60th Volume. Currently, he is the head of the Office Committee, and a member of the Distribution Committee of the Board of Editors of Volume 61.

Klarika Angela C. Garcia

Klarika Angela C. Garcia graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2013 with a degree in A.B. Political Science and a Minor in French Studies and European Studies. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 59th volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for the second issue of said volume. She is currently a member of the Executive Committee and the head of the Finance Committee.

Katrina Monica C. Gaw

Katrina Monica C. Gaw graduated cum laude from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 with a degree in B.S Management, Major in Legal Management, and a minor in English Literature. She is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2015 for its 60th volume. She is a member of the Journal’s Finance and Subscription Committees, and served as the Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the 60th volume. She is also a member of the Academics Committee of the Ateneo Law School’s Central Bar Operations.

April Joy B. Guiang

April Joy B. Guiang graduated from the University of the Philippines Manila with a degree in B.S. Nursing. She is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 61st volume. Aside from being an editor of the Journal, she also serves as the Vice President for Finance of the Libertas: The Ateneo Society for the Protection of Civil Liberties. She is also a resident intern of the Ateneo Human Rights Center.

Angelo Francesco F. Herbosa graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 with a degree in B.S. Management, Minor in International Business.  He is currently a second year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 61st volume. He is likewise the Associate Lead Editor for the third issue of the same volume.

Elaine S. Mendoza

Elaine S. Mendoza graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2012 with a degree in AB Management Economics and a Minor in International Business. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2014 and was an Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the 59th volume. She is currently a fourth year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She is also the head of the Secretariat and Distribution Committees of the Journal.

Jewelle Ann Lou P. Santos

Jewelle Ann Lou P. Santos graduated magna cum laude with a degree in B.A. Political Science from the University of the Philippines Manila in 2013. She was also conferred with the 2013 College of Arts and Sciences Most Outstanding Student Award and the Best Seminar Paper Award in Political Science. She joined the Journal in 2014 for its 59th volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for its second issue. Currently, she serves as a member of the Journal’s Executive Committee, co-head of the Layout Committee, and head of the Information Systems Committee. She is also the Lead Editor of the second issue of the 61st Volume. Her published works include The Case of Risos-Vidal v. COMELEC and the Pardoning Power as the Most Benevolent Power of the Chief Executive, 60 Ateneo L.J. 363 (2015) and Occupational safety conditions of bus drivers in Metro Manila, the Philippines in the International Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics (2016).

Jason L. Sy

Jason L. Sy graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2015 with a degree in B.S. Management, Major in Management Engineering, and a Minor in Philosophy. He is currently a second year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 61st volume.
