Ateneo Law Journal
Board of Editors

The Journal is a fully student-run legal publication. Its Board of Editors is composed of students who underwent a rigorous admissions and training process. The Board has the primary responsibility of editing and producing each issue of the Journal and has the secondary responsibility of fulfilling other administrative functions to ensure the continuous operation of the Journal.

Angelli Camille P. Ancheta

Angelli Camille P. Ancheta graduated cum laude and Program Awardee from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 with a degree in A.B. Literature in English. She joined the Journal for its 61st Volume and was the Associate Lead Editor for the second issue of the same Volume. She is a fourth year student specializing in International Environmental Law, and a scholar of the Ateneo de Manila Law Alumni Association, Inc. Currently, she is the head of the Journal's Secretariat Committee, and a member of the Office Committee.

Isa Maria N. Avancena

Isa Maria N. Avanceña graduated with honors from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014, with a degree in A.B. European Studies, Major in International Relations, and Minors in English Literature and French. She is currently a fourth year student in the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. In 2015, she joined the Board of Editors of the Journal and served as Associate Lead Editor for the third issue of the 60th Volume. Currently, she is the a member of the Executive Committee, head of the Distribution Committee, co-head of the Layout Committee, and the Lead Editor for the third Issue of the 62d Volume of the Journal. She is also a member of the Administration Committee of the Ateneo Law School’s Central Bar Operations. She previously co-authored the case comment Carpio Morales v. Court of Appeals and Binay, Jr.: Why the Supreme Court Abandoned the Fifty-Six Year-Old Doctrine of Condonation, 61 Ateneo L.J. 204 (2016), together with Atty. Coleen Claudette R. Luminarias. 

Patrick Edward L. Balisong

Patrick Edward L. Balisong graduated cum laude and Program Awardee from the Ateneo De Manila University in 2016, with a degree in A.B. Social Sciences, Specialization in Cultural Heritage, and a Minor in History. He is currently a second year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 62d volume. He is the Associate Lead Editor for the second Issue of the same Volume, and a member of the Journal's Layout and Distribution Committees. He is also a member of the Administration Committee of the Ateneo Law School’s Central Bar Operations.

Ma. Carmel M. Baquilod

Ma. Carmel M. Baquilod graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2015 with a degree in B.S Economics. She is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2016 for its 61st volume and was the Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the same volume. She is currently a member of the Finance Committee and the Information Systems Committee. She is also an intern for the Ateneo Human Rights Center.

Isabel Assunta C. Caguioa

Isabel Assunta C. Caguioa graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippine Diliman in 2014 with a degree in B.A. Psychology. She is currently a fourth year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2015 for its 60th volume. She is a member of the Executive Committee, head of the Information System Committees, and co-head of the Layout Committee. She served as the Associate Lead Editor for the second issue of the 60th volume and co-Lead Editor of the March 2017 Special Issue of the Journal, entitled "Navigating Uncharted Waters: Moving Forward with the Philippines-China Arbitral Award." She is also currently the Lead Editor for the second issue of the 62d Volume of the Journal

Katrina Monica C. Gaw

Katrina Monica C. Gaw graduated cum laude from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 with a degree in B.S. Management, Major in Legal Management, and a minor in English Literature. She is currently a fourth year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 60th volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for the fourth issue of the 60th volume. She is currently a member of the Executive Committee, the head of the Finance Committee and Subscriptions Committee, as well as the Lead Editor of the first issue of the 62d volume. Her published works include Beyond Conventional Free TV and Moviehouses: Proposing a Regulatory Framework for Video-on-Demand and Livestreaming Services Content Accessed Through the Internet, and Establishing Norms for Audience Empowerment and Sensitivity on Web-based Entertainment, co-authored with Atty. Eugenio H. Villareal, 61 Ateneo L.J. 123 (2016) and Discovering Litigation Practice: A Reintroduction to the Modes of Discovery, co-authored with Atty. George S.D. Aquino, 61 Ateneo L.J. 454 (2016).

April Joy B. Guiang

April Joy B. Guiang graduated from the University of the Philippines Manila with a degree in B.S. Nursing. She is currently a fourth year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 61st Volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for the fourth Issue of the same Volume. She is currently a member of the Distribution Committee, the head of the Office Committee, and the Lead Editor for the fourth Issue of the 62d Volume. She is also a resident intern of the Ateneo Human Rights Center. She recently co-authored The Public Welfare Dimension of the Competition Clauses: An Exposition and Application of the Proper Constitutional Treatment for Industries with Adverse Public Health Impacts, 90 Phil. L.J 797 (2017).

Angelo Francesco F. Herbosa

Angelo Francesco F. Herbosa graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2015 with a bachelor of science degree in Management, minor in International Business. He is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 61st volume and was an Associate Lead Editor for the third Issue of the same Volume. He is likewise an incumbent member of the Journal’s Distribution and Layout Committees. 

John Jacob D. Kaufman

John Jacob D. Kaufman graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 with a degree in B.S. Management, with a minor in Decision Science. He is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2017 for its 62d Volume, and is currenly the Associate Lead Editor for the fourth Issue of the same Volume. He is a member of the Journal's Distribution, Office, and Subscription Committees. 

John Stephen B. Pangilinan

John Stephen B. Pangilinan graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman Extension Program in Pampanga with a degree in B.A. Business Economics. He is currently a second year student in the Ateneo Law School. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 62d volume in 2017, and is the Associate Lead Editor for the third Issue of the same Volume. He is currently a member of the Journal's Layout and Information Systems Committees. He is also a member of the Ateneo Central Bar Operations for Academics Committee.

Jose Ryan S. Pelongco

Jose Ryan S. Pelongco graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2010 with a degree in B.S. Legal Management, with minors in English Literature and Enterprise Development. He is currently a second year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal in 2017 for its 62d Volume, and is the Associate Lead Editor for the third Issue of the same Volume. Currently, he is a member of the Journal's Finance and Subscription Committees. He is also an intern for the Ateneo Human Rights Center and a Deputy Minister for the Ateneo Law Debate and Advocacy Society.

Rea Irish Michelle R. Pintor

Rea Irish Michelle R. Pintor graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2015 with a degree in B.S. Legal Management, and a Minor in Development Management. She is currently a third year law student at the Ateneo de Manila School of Law. She joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 62d volume in 2017 and is currently the Associate Lead Editor for the second Issue of the same Volume. She is a member of the Journal's Office, Distribution, and Secretariat Committees. She is also a member of the Academics Committee of the Ateneo Law School Central Bar Operations.

Jason L. Sy

Jason L. Sy graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2015 with a degree in B.S. Management, Major in Management Engineering, and a Minor in Philosophy. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 61st volume in 2016 and was the Associate Lead Editor for the third issue of the same volume. Currently, he is a member of the Journal's Layout and Subscription Committees.

John Paulo S. Vicencio

John Paulo S. Vicencio graduated from Ateneo de Davao University in 2016 with an A.B. Political Science degree, minor in Philosophy. He is currently a second year law student at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He joined the Board of Editors of the Journal for its 62d volume in 2017, and is the Associate Lead Editor for the fourth Issue of the same Volume. He is likewise a member of the Journal’s Information Systems, Office, and Distribution Committees. He is also a volunteer editor in the Teehankee Center Rule of Law.
